Our client's mission is to develop a highly diverse, competitive, capable, and innovative domestic cell, tissue, and organ manufacturing ecosystem that will fundamentally change healthcare for chronic disease and traumatic injury and to establish the trained and ready workforce essential for that ecosystem. Their goal is to improve lives by cost-effectively restoring or replacing the function of damaged cells, tissues, and organs for patients.

This is an onsite role in Manchester, NH.

The Impact That You Will Make

You will advance our world-class operations team for the biomanufacturing of engineered cells, tissues, and organs by implementing best practices for procurement. You will support the start up and operation of a 80,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art GMP manufacturing facility. In this role, you will interact directly with vendors, program management, technical operations, quality, contracting, and finance teams to ensure the successful delivery of programs. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will play a critical role in helping the organization operate at a GMP level.

Your Role

  • Developing sourcing strategies, defining requirements, researching vendors, and coordinating the RFP process
  • Working with the contracting and finance teams, ensure that agreements and terms are favorable
  • Supporting assessment of vendors’ quality systems and product or service specifications
  • Maintaining vendor information in our manufacturing systems
  • Working with the technical and quality teams, assessing vendor performance and resolving performance issues
  • Optimize spending within categories
  • Initiating and tracking purchase orders – creating and maintaining an effective system for managing purchase orders from requisition through receipt
  • Implementing procurement best practices including risk management procedures

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in a biopharmaceutical or medical device company that is audited by the FDA
  • Demonstrated success in leading RFPs
  • Experience with manufacturing information technology systems is highly desired:procurement systems, manufacturing execution systems, manufacturing resource planning systems, and enterprise resource planning systems
  • Working knowledge of budget management and basic accounting principles required
  • Knowledge and practical application of Lean manufacturing concepts
  • Exceptional research, analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
